Specialized endoscopy procedures include a third space and an advanced procedures unit, which replaces major operative procedures and shortens hospital stay and recovery times. This includes peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), Zenker’s Diverticulectomy (Z-POEM), endoscopic gastric pyloromyotomy (GPOEM), and submucosal tunnelling endoscopic resection (STER) procedures.

Several other advanced luminal endoscopy procedures are performed by the third space endoscopy team at our hospitals, including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic stent placement. As all of these procedures are highly specialized, requiring complex medical decision- making, the third space endoscopy team works closely with our highly skilled specialized GIT surgical team, as well as the thoracic, bariatric, colorectal, and general surgery services.
